Message from the president

ISU PRESIDENTGreetings from the Governing Council, Management and staff of the Institution of Surveyors of Uganda

On behalf of the 29th Council, I want to thank the members of the Institution for giving us the mandate to move our Institution forward. I wish to commend all Past Councils for strong leadership and promotion of the ISU image/brand locally and internationally.

As an institution we are currently operating under rules of the ‘new normal’ due to COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our way of life. This included holding the our First Virtual AGM on 25th September,2020.

2019/2020 has been a very trying period, as an Institution we lost RSU David Ntwatwa Kyagulanyi who was a former President of the Institution and former Chairman of SRB. We also lost RSU Abel Bikandema – a senior QS and Joyce Nziru who was a young graduate valuation surveyor. In addition, many of our members lost their loved ones – fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, children and other relatives. In particular let us remember the President and RSU Richard Muhangi who lost their wives at very young ages. We continue to pray for their souls.

Allow me to share reasons why ISU;

The Institution of Surveyors of Uganda was founded in 1968 to bring together the Surveying fraternity to share ideas and to promote Surveying. Today , ISU is the leading independent organization for the surveying profession in Uganda and embraces all surveyors right from when they start college, as they progress as young professionals and then as they mature into senior practitioners.

Becoming a member of ISU demonstrates that you are a trusted professional and provides access to services that will help your career progress. Membership also helps link our members with fellow professionals in Uganda and beyond.

ISU promotes the high surveying standards, professional ethics and best practice that our members embody. With the practical knowledge of surveying professionals behind it, ISU advises government, business and education on policy and practice, and is an independent voice surveying on matters of public interest.
